Innovation Network Background
Our mission is to assist and support members in their efforts to revitalize organizations through the powerful use of innovation, creativity and group thinking skills.
Innovation Network was formally created in the Fall of 1993 by Joyce
Wycoff, author of Mindmapping and Transformation Thinking. Joyce envisioned
a professional association of individuals and companies that pursue innovative
thinking and processes. In five years, the membership has grown to almost
800 and includes about 50 members in countries such as Singapore, Monaco,
Germany and U.K.
In addition to general membership, there is a group of about 60 speakers,
trainers and consultants called Innovation Associates. This group includes
esteemed experts and authors in the field of innovation/creativity such
as Roger von Oech, Charles W. Prather Ted Coulson, Ph.D., of Applied Creativity,
Inc., Meg Wheatley, Doug Hall, Roger Firestien, Gerald Nadler, and George
Land.
Innovation Network holds a yearly conference called "Convergence"
and publishes a quarterly newsletter, MindPlay. In 1996, a year-long study
program called Innovation University was launched, and in 1998, the first
Innovation Network Fall and Winter Workshop Series was initiated.
Innovation Network selects one or more companies each year to be honored
with the George Land Award for innovation. Companies that have won in
the past include Lucent Technologies, Dell University (of Dell Computer
Corp.), and The Clorox Companys Research and Development group.
