This is the only award that honors organizational innovation. All companies (or departments or operating segments of companies), schools, government agencies, or other organizations are invited to apply for this prestigious award. Awards will be presented in four organization categories:
Applications can be submitted until January 31, 2000 and the awards will be presented at Convergence 2000: Odyssey into Innovation, March 27-30 in San Diego, CA. Winner ArticlesGeorge Land Presents 1998 Awards George Land personally presented the George Land World Class Innovator Awards to the four winners for this year at Convergence 98 in Santa Barbara. The winning organizations are Dell University, Chicago Metropolitan YMCA, Richard Saunders International and The Clorox Company. The Land award, which was created to recognize innovation and creativity in organizations, was named in honor of George Land, CEO of Leadership 2000, author of Grow or Die and co-author of Breakpoint and Beyond. Land has helped organizations become more innovative for over 30 years. In a panel discussion following the presentation, representatives of the winning organizations gave a brief overview of the innovation activities within their organizations. While it was easy to see some common principles and philosophies, the winners demonstrated a variety of approaches to creating an innovation organization.
