Metaphoric One-liners
"If at first the idea is not absurd,
then there is no hope for it."
-- Albert Einstein
Last week, we were in Tampa with the Innovation University doing a
site visit at the very innovative CRX Transportation/Tropicana partnership.
During the visit one of the guys made a comment describing an old-style
manager as "big head, little ears." It struck us that it
was almost a perfect metaphor for what's wrong with management - we
think we know more than we do and we don't spend enough time listening.
This prompted a discussion about what other one-liners might be floating
around that would capture organizational problems or challenges in
a striking metaphor. We thought it might be fun to challenge this
group to come up with some that you've heard or thought of.
