Good Morning Thinkers!

Poetry (Fun and Fact)
Poetry is experiencing an incredible resurgence in popularity.
National poetry slams are in their tenth year, redefining poetry from
a placid, academic indulgence to an in-your-face, mainstream performance
art. Membership in the Academy of American Poets grew from 2,000 members
to 10,000 members since 1994. David Whyte and Mary Oliver are becoming
household names.
So, to explore this trend a bit, we have a question and a challenge
for you:
Question: Do you use poems in your work (training, workshops, etc? If
so, which ones (title and poet's name) and how do you use them?
or
Have you been in a workshop or work situation where someone has used
a poem that impacted you? If so, which one (title and poet's name) and
how were you affected?
Challenge: For all you budding poets, we challenge you to write one
or more TEN-WORD poems (anything longer will not count). To make it
more interesting, please include the word CHANGE in the poem.
Idea: get your department or work group involved with this challenge
and see what shows up. You could have them select the top two or three
to submit to this list.
We will publish the list of poems gathered and the ten-word poems (if
we're overwhelmed with poems, we'll provide a sampling). Here are some
poetry resources that might be of interest:
